Sacramento's geographic location halfway between the coast and the Nevada border provides its residents with lots of options for weekend getaways. Go west to the Bay Area for all of the urban amenities you would expect from a world-class city. You'll also find spectacular beach escapes. Go east, and you have the outdoorsy options offered by the Sierra Nevada mountain range, including Lake Tahoe. Either way, you can't lose.
